Mycena aetites (Fr.) Quél. syn. M. ammoniaca (Fr.) Quél. s. Lange Salmiak-Helmling Drab Bonnet. Cap 0.5–1.5cm across, conical to convex, pale to dark grey, grooved and having a lined appearance when moist, opaque when dry. Stem 30–45 x 0.5–1mm, concolorous with cap, lighter towards apex. Flesh thin, whitish, greyish in stem. Taste mild, smell none or slightly ammoniacal. Gills adnate with a decurrent tooth, grey with whitish edge. Cheilocystidia fusoid, thin-walled. Spore print white. Spores elliptical, amyloid, 9–10 x 5–5.5um. Habitat amongst short grass, or herbaceous debris. Season autumn. Rare. Edible but not worthwhile -avoid. Found In Europe.
